About
My name is Louis McBride. I’m the Bible and Academic Book Buyer here at Baker Book House, a family owned independent Christian Bookstore which started in 1939 (our parent company is Baker Publishing Group). I’m also on the Church Relations Team which specializes in working with our local churches. I am a 1997 graduate of Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield Illinois. I majored in Christian Theology with a cognate in Church History. Some of my favorite professors were Murray Harris, D. A. Carson, Douglas Moo, Carl Henry, Kenneth Kantzer, Harold Netland (the second reader of my thesis), Wayne Grudem, Grant Osborne, Paul Feinberg, John Feinberg, Bruce Ware (the first reader of my thesis) and John Woodbridge (if that’s not an example of shameless name dropping I’m not sure what is! But it’s true and I loved every one of them.). I have worked for Baker Book House since September 2000. It is, quite honestly, the best job I’ve ever had.

It sounds like you found your dream job! I am a newly retired librarian (after forty years), so I know what you are talking about. I am enjoying your blog very much.
